
The immense popularity of our chorizo has been hard to keep up with and we would like to take this space to thank all of our customers who have stuck with us throughout this busy year.
‘Demand greater than Production’ I keep being told, is a good problem to have for a start up business, but a problem no less. It has meant that we have sometimes been late on getting deliveries out to our most supportive of customers, which has of course been very frustrating.
The bottle-neck in the production was the packaging and due to the increased natural humidity – an increase on the naturally forming mould, which has to be wiped off before packing. Each pack used to have to be filled by hand, meaning that we just didn't have enough time in the day to pack all the chorizo required.
Enter our new, shiny packing machine! We believe the gap in production has now been plugged. July 2010 saw the installation of our new flow-wrap packaging machine. The new packaging itself (and this website) has been expertly designed by the amazing Naomi Knight of Design Loop (07723611249). The packaging stands out a mile in any shopping aisle and what’s more it protects the product even better as it is gas flushed so that there is no oxygen and mould spores can’t grow. This will help The Bath Pig concentrate on producing great chorizo and hopefully soon expand our range of cured meat products.
